"The Bucket List" on the Big Screen at Crystal Coast Unity Church, Friday October 24th at 1900 (7pm)

Friday evening at the Church is often movie night on the "Big Screen". Free movie, popcorn and soda; not the mention the fantastic fellowship and family time.

This week's movie "The Bucket List" presents 'academy Award winning actors Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are directed by Rob Reiner as two men who bust out of a cancer ward to go on a series of madcap, comic adventures to fully experience life before they 'kick the bucket.'

The 21st Annual Carolina Kite Festival will be held in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th from 1000 (10am) to 1700 (5pm) with a "Night Fly" on Saturday beginning at 2000 (8pm).

During this Family Fun event you will see colorful kites from around the world, candy drops and kite building for the wee ones, team flying as well as a sky full of Dragons, Soft Kites, Facets/Boxes, Deltas, Flat and Bowed kites and Sky Skimmers.

Havelock, North Carolina, home of Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station is proud to host our annual Chili Festival and Wing Cook Off on Friday, October 17th from 1700 (5pm) to 2100 (9pm) and Saturday, October 18th from 0900 (9am) to 2100 (9pm) at the City Park.

The Crystal Coast Plaza has opened up some new shopping experiences for us to enjoy here in Carteret county.
This experience is provided by the opening of Bed Bath and Beyond, Pet Smart, Michael's, Ross's, TJ Max and The Shoe Box. A Panera's Bread has opened on an out-lot as well.

I had commented in an earlier blog about a Chick-Fil-A being opened as part of the Crystal Coast Plaza. This information was taken from a press release from the development company and proved

to be erroneous. At this time, there is no Chick-Fil-A in Morehead City. Please ...

On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, Cherry Point Commissary was part of a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) wide Italian-American decorating/display contest. They

took it a step further and fed a few hundred active duty and retired personnel and their families. The FREE lunch consisted of different "Bertoli" products as well as

spaghetti, meat sauce, an alfredo sauce and garlic bread cooked up by Cpl Renesh Washington and Cpl Sean Davis and managed by Msgt Bobby Thomas. ...
